Doing Just Fine

I used to run with a fire so wild
Chasing the world like a restless child
I thought the clock was standing still
Always climbing another hill
But the years don't wait and they don't pause
They move along without a cause
I used to carry the weight on my own
Thinking my heart was made of stone
Now I'm sitting where the grass is green
Watching the parts of life I've seen
The world is rushing, but I'm not there
I'm breathing in the morning air
Now the time keeps moving, and that's okay
I'm just enjoying a brand new day
I'm another day older, feeling fine
Trading the hurry for a little more time
It's just being human, a natural grace
Finding my peace in a slower pace
Time doesn't ask if I want to change
It just moves the fence and shifts the range
So I tip my hat to the man I've been
And I welcome the soul that's coming in
The engine is quiet but the heart is warm
I've found my shelter after the storm
Time don't care about the plans I made!
It just keeps marching through sun and shade!
But the coffee is hot and the world is wide!
And I'm still enjoying the beautiful ride!
